Wiberg

Great Grandpa reportedly changed it because there were too many Persson's in the Pennsylvania logging camp... However, some research suggests that he was also referred to as Ludvig Persson, because his father was named Per Jonson Wiberg. So, Ludwig, in true Scandinavian mode referred to himself as Pers son: the son of Per. This is why checking Swedish records gets dicey, because although their records keeping was outstanding many times they reverted to the Pers son, Nils dotter, Jons son, format and omitted the Family name. Sooo... On grandpa Ludwig's side I can trace back to his father who is listed on the 1834 birth record as Per Jonsson and on his mothers side to about 1700 and his GGGG maternal grandfather Jons Sten Skog and GGGG grandmother Bengta Christtensen. The use of the Jonsson name has me stymied right now as I cannot find a Wiberg titled link past 1834.
