1880 Census shows him living with Eva in Logansport at Mother-in-Laws under the last name of William "Ladell" along with son "Willie". Spelling probably result of Census taker error.
Dropping of second "D" in last name during his lifetime and second "D" added back in by Willam Campbell Liddell.

Alexander's occupation shown as "Bookeeper."1901 Candadian Census shows most of family in Canada, Quebec. Catherine is married and Margaret is not with family. Fergus is not yet born. At this point Jane is dead and Alexander's new wife if Christine.
Probably has family name of Wiberg, but listings are following Scandinavian custom of listing as "son." so Per Jonsson is Per <WIBERG>, and he is Jons son. Unsuccessful at searches for Per Wiberg or Jon, Johan, John Wiberg in decades preceeding or following.
