Corporal in 1st (Kings) Dragoon Guards, deployed to Canada in 1838-42
"Until 1838 the 7th moved from billet to billet around Britain before being sent with the King's Dragoon Guards to Canada to punish the French republicans who were in minor rebellion. The 7th were not given the chance of action as the revolt petered out but they were kept on until 1842 in Canada." -The Queen's Royal Hussars Offical Website

William Liddell's Civil War Service1st Vermont CavalryFinal Resting Place
Please note: several hundred soldiers served in two or more units; if you don't find someone you are expecting to see here, he may be listed only by his other unit; to make sure, go to the Cemetery database </cem/index.php> and do a name search; if you find such an instance, please notify the webmaster </feedback.php> so we can make the addition. Also, for some soldiers, there is missing information; we don't have it (yet). For those listed as died 'before' or 'after' a date, this is the last date and location we currently have on them. The location may not be their final resting place (the 'before' or 'after' date may not be accurate either, depending on the source; if a census, its accurate, if a reunion roster, it might not be, as veterans groups' records were not always accurate). See legend below for explantion of abbreviations.

34. William McCord
Cemetery Record of Deceased Veterans
(from Form GR 2 THE AMERICAN LEGION)The reason for omissions in the veteran's burials is that the form GR2, American Legion was done circa 1940. Only veterans who had died by that time will be listed here. Most are veterans of the Civil War and some are WWI, but none from WWII or later.
